Significant Incidents
Suspect Arrested for Arson at School House Kitchen
On February 28, at 5:27 am, a School House Kitchen manager reported fire damage on the upstairs patio. Security footage revealed two homeless individuals trespassing and igniting cardboard. Officers identified one suspect on March 1 and located him at 7-Eleven. He was arrested after confessing, and the second suspect remains unidentified. The investigation is ongoing. (Case AR25003463)
Teen Driver Crashes Stolen Car, Injures Pregnant Woman
On February 24, at 6:16 pm, officers located a stolen vehicle in the Lowe’s parking lot. The driver, a 16-year-old male, fled and ran a red light at W 53rd Ave and Wadsworth, crashing into two other vehicles. One victim, a nine-month pregnant woman, was hospitalized. The driver, who admitted to using marijuana and fentanyl, was arrested for vehicular eluding and motor vehicle theft. A passenger with an active warrant was also taken into custody.  (Case AR25003224)
Shots Fired at Moving Vehicle on Wadsworth BlvdÂ
On February 26, at 8:18 pm, officers responded to reports of gunfire on the 8700 block of Wadsworth Blvd. A driver reported that a white Acura sedan passed him, followed by the sound of gunshots hitting his vehicle. Officers found multiple bullet holes in the car, but the suspect vehicle was not located. The victim was unharmed, and the case remains under investigation. Â (Case AR25003369)
Felony Menacing Suspect Arrested in Aurora Â
On December 12, 2024, a man was confronted at gunpoint outside his home by a suspect demanding his cell phone. The suspect attempted to force the victim into a truck but fled when a witness threatened to call police. Investigators later identified the suspect as Zayne Anderson, who was arrested by a U.S. Marshals taskforce on February 27, 2025. He faces charges of attempted second-degree kidnapping and menacing.
