Man Arrested After Threats on RTD Bus

On February 18, 2025, at 4:38 pm, officers responded to a report of a man threatening an RTD bus driver and making inappropriate demands toward passengers in the 10100 block of W 53rd Place. Upon arrival, officers encountered an uncooperative male suspect who refused to leave the bus. When officers attempted to remove him, he resisted and kicked one of them. The suspect was found to have recently left a hospital against medical advice. He was taken to a hospital for further treatment and multiple felony and misdemeanor charges have been filed, including endangering public transportation and utility transmission, second degree assault on a peace officer, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. (Case AR25002833)

Suspect Flees After Drug-Related Traffic Stop

On February 18, 2025, at 11:37 pm, officers contacted a suspicious vehicle at Ralston Central Park. During the stop, drug paraphernalia was observed in plain view. The driver attempted to flee by reversing into a police vehicle and then crashing into a light pole at the park entrance. He fled on foot, but a search was unsuccessful. His passenger was taken into custody on active warrants. Officers observed a significant amount of suspected fentanyl inside the vehicle, and the case remains under investigation. (Case AR25002847)

Domestic Dispute Leads to Vehicle Pursuit & Arrest

On February 23, 2025, at 11:41 am, officers responded to multiple reports of a domestic disturbance involving a male and female. The male initially reported that the female damaged his windshield and later stole his truck. She abandoned the truck and left in her own vehicle, leading to further altercations and reports that she attempted to hit people with her car. When officers located the female, she fled, initiating a pursuit that ended safely on I-76 near Pecos, where she was taken into custody. Witnesses provided conflicting accounts of events, and the male fled before officers could contact him again. The investigation is on-going. (Cases AR25003134, AR25003138, and AR25003156)

Suspicious Fire Investigation & Arrest

On February 9, 2025, officers assisted Adams County Fire with a report of a man who fell from a ladder inside his home. The man was found unresponsive and transported to the hospital. While on scene, officers discovered evidence of a recent fire and various weapons scattered throughout the residence. Officers discovered the male had a history of drug use and previous fire-related incidents. Following an investigation, the Adams County District Attorney’s Office accepted charges for reckless endangerment related to this and a prior case from July 2024. On February 20, 2025, the suspect was arrested and jailed in Adams County. (Case AR25002324)
