Significant Incidents


Unresponsive Man Found at Bus Stop Pronounced Deceased


On February 14, at 5:51 am, a passerby discovered an unresponsive man near a bus stop in the 7900 block of Wadsworth Blvd. Emergency responders arrived and pronounced him deceased. Evidence of recent narcotic use was found nearby. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office will determine the cause of death. (Case AR25002592)


Molotov Cocktail Discovered Near Arvada Home Under Construction


On February 10, at approximately 8:00 am, an electrician arrived at a residence under construction near 9300 W 66th Ave and discovered a Molotov cocktail actively burning near the garage and notified the homeowner. The homeowner quickly moved it away, preventing significant damage. Arvada Fire and Jefferson County’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal team responded, and the device is being processed for further investigation. (Case AR25002364)


Driver Crashes into Arvada Police Vehicle During Motorist Assist


On February 15, at 10:11 pm, an officer assisting a motorist was struck by a driver who failed to heed a lane closure. The suspect initially did not stop but was forced to pull over after her car was disabled. The officer was inside the patrol car at the time but was uninjured. The driver was cited, and the damaged police vehicle was taken out of service. (Case AR25002712)


Severe Domestic Violence Case Under Investigation


On February 16, Arvada officers were alerted by medical staff at a hospital in Aurora about a victim who disclosed months of severe abuse, including physical beatings, strangulation, and being assaulted with weapons. The victim, who had escaped to her mother’s home in Denver, reported that the abuse took place in both Arvada and Wheat Ridge. Detectives are continuing to investigate the case. (Case AR25002734)

Community Outreach Resources Enforcement (CORE)

The CORE team focuses on issues in the community related to homelessness. They respond to calls involving homeless people, proactively offer resources, and conduct enforcement when other support methods are not effective.
