Suspect arrested for assaulting police officer AR24021696
On December 29, at about 12:49 pm, officers were dispatched to a drug related call at the Olde Town RTD parking garage. An officer arrived and observed several homeless subjects using suspected narcotics in an elevator vestibule. Upon contact one of the males attempted to walk away, and when told he was not free to leave, he slammed his bike into the officer. A physical altercation ensued which nearly caused the officer to fall backwards down a staircase. The suspect fled and was not immediately located. On December 30, the suspect was located at a homeless camp near the 5500 block of Olde Wadsworth Blvd and arrested for second degree assault of a peace officer.

On December 26, at about 11:25 am, an unknown male suspect (picture below) entered the BMO bank at 5805 Carr St and approached a teller. The suspect passed a note demanding money from the teller. The suspect fled out the front door and ran northbound on Carr St. Officers set up a perimeter and attempted to track the suspect with a K9 team but did not locate the suspect. Arvada PD detectives and the Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force responded and the case remains under investigation.

Stolen vehicle recovered, two suspects outstanding AR24021585
On December 26, at about 11:56 pm, an officer observed a stolen Subaru Tribeca at Ralston Road and Wadsworth Bypass. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle. The suspect vehicle fled and subsequently hit the center median at W. 58 Ave and Pierce St. Three occupants exited and ran from the vehicle. One of the passengers fled south from the vehicle and was quickly apprehended, while two other male subjects fled northbound into the Arvada Village Apartment Complex. Both males that fled north were armed with handguns. A perimeter was immediately set and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and Lakewood PD responded to assist with a search. The two suspects were not located and the case is under investigation.Â
Burglary suspect arrested AR24021717
On December 29, at about 6:42 pm, officers responded to 6844 Carr St after a homeowner observed a burglar inside his residence on a security camera. The residence was vacant and for sale at the time. Officers arrived and observed a male suspect inside the residence and ordered him to exit. The suspect barricaded himself in an upstairs bedroom. Officers used various tools to test/gain compliance for over an hour but the suspect still refused to exit the residence. The Jeffco Regional SWAT Team responded and the suspect was eventually placed into custody. He was treated for a minor injury and jailed on charges of second degree burglary, resisting arrest, and obstructing a peace officer.
Attempted vehicle theft interrupted AR24021721
On December 29, at about 10:07 pm, officers responded to an attempted vehicle theft that had just occurred near the 5400 block of Dover St. The victim observed a male suspect enter and try to steal her vehicle parked in front of her home on her security camera. A neighbor interrupted the male suspect and he got into the car he arrived in and fled the scene. A shot was fired from the suspect’s vehicle as it left the area. No injuries were reported. The scene was processed and the investigation continues.

My car was stolen on the 5th, recovered a few hours later by APT Towing who wouldn't take the car off the tow truck when I got there and now is refusing to give me my car that was stolen unless I give them $175. I've been there 3 times to get my car and I guess I'm just fucked.
